Looking for recommendations on saving a journal

This is not a journal, but it is like one. I recently came across a box of letters from 1951 between my father and his parents while my father was in boot camp. To date I have scanned around 330 letters into pdf format. These files use up around 450MByte of my disc space, which is thirty times larger than the 15MByte allocated for family stories in family search. Keeping my own memory stick of the files might result in the memory stick being lost sometime in the future, or technology changing making the memory stick unusable. What is the best way to archive these letters for other family members?

you may also be able to submit files to the Digital BOOK section of FamilySearch - which I would trust much more than Internet Archive. Using Digital Books you can get beyond the 15 MB limit.

Here is an email to submit items as a digital book:

    digitallibrary@familysearch.org

Since each letter is only a little more than 1MB on average, you could group them in sets of 10 or so letters in each PDF. Then you would have about 30 PDFs, each of which is smaller than the 15MB limit. If there is a logical grouping, some of your PDFs might have fewer letters in them, and so you might have more than 30 PDFs. But that would still fit easily within the file size limit per Memory and also very comfortably within the limit of the number of Memories per person.

If you feel the contents are suitable for a much used digital library, you could upload the letters as one pdf to the Internet Archive as a Community Text

https://archive.org/details/opensource?tab=about which contains links to instructions.

once you have a pdf file of grouped letters - you can compress it using ILOVEPDF to get as many pages under the 15MB limit as possible. most default settings on pdf creation create file sizes way higher than actually needed. https://www.ilovepdf.com/compress_pdf will let you split and merge pdf files as needed.
