Hi, I’m curious what you mean by Bavarian outfits being adopted elsewhere. I’ve recently gotten into touch with distant relatives of mine who live in Cologne and Frankfurt and they tell me that Dirndl and Lederhosen are strictly a Bavarian and Austrian style.

    Hello curious!

Fashion is contagious and does not live in a bubble. I'm from the Caribbean and our school uniform (private school) was a dirndl.

We had the apron and wore a white blouse inside the dress, we also wore a straw hat with a ribbon around it.

In fairness, there were many European migrants in our region since we were British.
