US, North Carolina—Marriages and Cohabitations, 1848–1940 [MQHB-829]
Am I wrong to send this batch back to be reindexed? In my opinion it should be Marriage Registration and not Marriage. There are other batches like this

I agree with your evaluation. The record states living together. It does not indicate they were married.
So then it is your choice to re index them or to return for reindexing.

@airland and @LarryClark43 unless I am mistaken, this batch MQHB-829 is exactly like the cohabitation example #3 (last example given) and is correctly indexed except that the Race Box should be marked <blank> In review, changing the race box is an easy fix ---please correct me if I'm wrong 😎

maryellenstevensbarnes1, You are correct it is exactly like the cohabitation example #3 which means it should be in the Marriage Registration category in the first field. Unfortunately The distinction between Marriage and Marriage Registration does not get included in the examples and is only brought up in the instructions.
The way the examples are set up seems a bit confusing to me so I could be mistaken but I don't think so.
The first examples are under: "Marriage" entry type samples
The next. group for cohabitation are under: "Marriage Registration" entry type samples
The example, #3, that you refer to is in the second group.

What to Index:
- Index all records of marriage or marriage registration. Cohabitation records should be indexed using the Marriage Registration event type.
