Viewing the link for "United States City and Business Directories, ca. 1749 - ca. 1990", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QHV-J3DB-LY2B?cc=3754697 : 21 March 2023). When try to enlarge image to read it, it is VERY BLURRED so having a difficult time reading it. Who can ensure when documents are copied or loaded that the images are readable - in excellent focus? There was no 'tool' to adjust for focus and the 6 pages I reviewed were ALL out of focus - so assuming the ENTIRE directory cannot be read.

You'd need a time machine to go talk to the camera operator who microfilmed the directory, unfortunately. It looks like the indexers managed to decipher a lot of it, although it couldn't have been an easy task.

The New York Public Library has put many old directories online. And the Allen County Public Library has MANY old directories in the stacks, and those are being digitally scanned for FS. You might find a better copy elsewhere. Or another year with better images.
