Does anyone know her? This plate was a part of Selba Elizabeth Crotts' estate in Lexington, NC.

After Selba's death in 1970, her daughter, Elizabeth Huffman, continued to live at the residence at 228 Hemstead St, Lexington, NC until her death in 2001. The plate was a part of the estate that was eventually demolished. My mother, Ruth Jean Huffman's daughter, now has possession of the plate but has been unsuccessful in identifying the lady in the image.

@Randall Bradford Beck My grandmother probably knew her (no kidding). I would assume that the woman on the plate must have been regarded as important to either or both Selba and Elizabeth - a parent or grandparent or possibly parents/grandparents of Selba's spouse. You may want to check with any of their surviving descendants to find out about the 'story of the plate with the woman's photo'. I would bet the technology to transfer a photo to ceramic or the popular application of such did not exist before 1970 ( I don't know anyone with a plate from 1970 that had a photo on it - if it did exist it would be very rare I suppose) ... so I would operate on the assumption that Elizabeth probably knew the woman as well (if that helps you locate or narrow the possible living descendants list). The likely way to find out will be to gather other old photos of the possible parents/grandparents and compare known/names recorded photos versus this image. My best guess as to date of the photo - just from the appearance of the image - probably early 1900s. So that might also help narrow candidates - maybe check more likely candidates' obituaries for a possible resemblance (don't know how popular photos in obituaries were in Lexington for the potential timeframe).
