I'm tying to see a christening record. But It says "image unavailable" but has citation info to copy. What do I do with that to be able to see the document/info? thank you

@Linda May Tolbert If you want to share the URL, someone can look at it to tell you where it may be available to view if you don't know how to do that.

A tip on this one is that is says it's on findmypast.com. The current record collection it is pulling from is the index, but if you use the information from the index and do a new search on findmypast you might get lucky and find a result in the actual image collection. In this case, you are lucky! https://search.findmypast.com/record?id=GBPRS%2FPLY%2F004634094%2F00029&parentid=GBPRS%2FB%2F31024883%2F1 I think it says his father's profession is a captain in the army. How exciting!

The 1st one is available from FindMyPast.com, as mentioned in the citation.

The 2nd one is available at any Affiliate Library or FSC.

You can also access FindMyPast.com at FSCs and many Affiliate Libraries.

If it says "image unavailable", then you probably can't; that's what "unavailable" means.

I wondered if I can go to a local church of Jesus christ of latter day saints to see it. Is this a possibility, anyone?

"England and Wales Birth Registration Index, 1837-2008," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2NCG-LF4 : 1 October 2014), Charles De Clare Richards, 1860; from "England & Wales Births, 1837-2006," database, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : 2012); citing Birth Registration, Stoke Damerel, Devon, England, citing General Register Office, Southport, England.

"England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975", database, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NB62-K8B : 5 February 2023), Solomon Harold Richard, 1870.

Just to point out that the Findmypast image shown for Charles De Clare Richards is a baptismal record, not the birth registration which was the index record found on FamilySearch

The birth registration record would need to be requested from the GRO (England and Wales) (fee would apply) if that specific record is required.

    https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

You need to quote the registration details from the FamilySearch record.

Thank you! MaureenE123 I have ordered from GRO before. I didn't think of doing that so I really appreciate your advice.
