The edit option on a record doesn't work.
How do I make a correction of a record that was misread?

If the edit option isn't available, then you console yourself that despite the error, the index served its purpose: you found the record.

Editing is a relatively recent addition to FamilySearch. Some record indexes can be edited but not all. It may become editable in a future update.
