I looked up a DETAILED description of the Wife of John Augustus Barry on Google. ALL indications are that her maiden name is MISPELLED. Someone here try to convince me NO TO TRUST GOOGLE with such a detailed account. Please do not fault me for trying to get things right. van Ellinckhuyzen is the correct spelling.

One of the rules of indexing is to type what you see, we do not "correct" the spelling used in the original BUT, you could use the "OR" option like this, "van Elinchhuizen OR van Ellinckhuyzen."

I was told not to use (or) that way. Only for alias names that are written on the form. I will follow Indexing rules.

You are correct not to use Or unless the spelling variation is on the image. We don't index information taken from outside sources and our own research.

I agree but I just cannot ignore them. Only if handwriting on certain letters is uncertain. Otherwise I will keep on entering what I see on the image. I feel better following indexing instructions.
