Right on time! And it now concurs with changes FS personnel made to my FHC Wiki site in December 7 to 26.

So, what is the significance of the name change?
0 -
Uniformity worldwide and connecting to a registered worldwide group and product name. Also, the expanding of FamilySearch resources to all Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints meeting houses worldwide.

Oh, so sometime in the future, when you login in at any LDS Church meeting house, you will be accessing what is currently the FS Portal? Is that right?
0 -
Yes, it will require you to install the extension to be installed in the browser on your personal device. The official rollout to the church meeting houses will be completed by January 17, 2023

Does that mean the FHC computers will be pushed the name change automatically? Or do we as local FHC techs need to do anything in the FHC as part of this?
Thanks in advance!

Will that also enable you to print from your laptop using the center's printer?
0 -
No, printing is only for Center Computers. We recommend all printing be done by the Guests, not on an FSC Computer, to print to pdf and then take to home or another printer and print.

A staff member just tried it on his Macbook Air M1-2020 laptop here at the FSC connected to Liahona. The newly-installed extension showed green, and the fhc.familysearch.org site shows the premium programs OK. But when he tried to look at raw images for restricted sources, it said he needs to be at a FamilySearch Center or affiliate library. Turned out he needed to restart his Chrome program after installing the extension. Then it worked.
