I followed a "Recommended Task" Elmer Eugene Anke in the 1950 US Census only to hit a dead end - I was denied access as you can see from the attached. I then did an Ancestry.com search for him (through FamilySearch's own link), found the entry and was able to access it with no problem. Why couldn't I through FamilySearch?

I saw the same message when I looked at Elmer (KH82-Q1M). When I selected "Show All" and then "Review & Attach," I got a 403 error. There are known issues like this (see https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/133029/1950-us-census-hint-error). There is also an ongoing thread here https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/132983/1950-us-census-record-shows-403-record-access-denied/p1. This does not solve your problem, but please know that you are not the only one.

    Maile :)
