Record hints

Greetings!

While I do appreciate new information from ancestor record hints, it would be great if I wasn't sent "hints" that I have already added to my ancestors records. Is there a way for your system to check if the information is already in an ancestors source list attached to my account?

I appreciate your help! Thank you to everyone for all the work digitizing records, photos, news articles and all :-)

Are you sure the hints are for the exact same record? I have only ever received hints of this type when they are already attached to another ID - not the one I'm working on. Often, what appears to be a "duplicate" hint isn't strictly that: looking closely, you will find a different URL reference. This often happens where a record has been filmed twice, or the content is otherwise identical - e.g., same burial, but one indexed from the parish register and the other from a transcript. You have to carefully examine the hint before concluding it has already been attached.
