    Various possibilities

    1. Wrong baptism record.
    2. Mark changed his name to John or, more likely, he had two forenames and changed his preference from Mark to John.
    3. Mark died and Sarah married a John Coleman.
    4. Father's name incorrectly recorded on baptism record.

Need to check all available information including other children, burial records and census records. Which other children are on the 1841 census record?

The 1841 census record at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M73P-6PF?treeref=LHJ8-7NQ shows parents John and Sarah with children William and Mary (ages rounded down to 20), Eliza, 12 and Thursa, 9, as well as Thomas, 15.

So far, I have found the baptisms of both Thomas (19 Jan 1823) and Thyrza (31 Aug 1828) - to John (labourer, residence Allington) and Sarah Coleman, at Kington St Michael (see Find My Past index - free to view records).

This means there are two, distinct individuals involved here, the one who married Rebecca Archer indeed having a father named John.

See https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&q.birthLikeDate.from=1820&q.birthLikeDate.to=1824&q.birthLikePlace=Chippenham%2C%20Wiltshire%2C%20England%2C%20United%20Kingdom&q.givenName=Thomas&q.givenName.1=Thomas&q.marriageLikeDate.from=1842&q.marriageLikeDate.to=1846&q.surname=Coleman&q.surname.1=Colman&treeref=LHJ8-7NQ&f.collectionId=2563939 for 1851 census results for a Thomas Coleman, born Chippenham 1820-1824 period. I am not familiar with the county of Wiltshire but see Kington St Michael is about 3 miles north of Chippenham and Allington is less than 2 miles from the town centre.
