South Africa Burials - 2 image

I am reviewing a batch that has 2 images. The first one has name, sex, age and burial date. The second image in the batch shows a death date and a burial order date, which I assume would be considered the record date.

The indexer has marked the second image as no extractable image, which I understand, but they did not index the death date or the burial order/record date. Shouldn't those be indexed too and included?

Sorry. Yes, you should. For two-page entries like this, you do mark the second page marked as "No, No Extractable Data", and enter any required data from the second page in the entry fields on the first. If you don't know how to use the Adjacent Images menu option in the upper left corner, see the Help article below.

You only need to enter what is asked for on the entry form for that project. The organization that contracted with FamilySearch for this project decides what information they want from the forms. Any additional data will be available to researchers once these forms are published online.

That is why when you do your own research, you should try to view the actual source (1) to verify the indexed information, and (2) to look for additional information about your ancestors.

But the entry form does ask for a death date and a record date. These show on the 2nd image which is obviously the 2nd page of the same record. So shouldn't I index them?

Enter the Death date. Read the Project instructions - near the end to answer your record date question. I have not been using any dates as the record date. It wastes enough of my time to get the Death date.
