Family Search added a J.K. McCall 9M4K-ZHB but I feel this is the very same person as

John Keener McCall KC1B-KJ3. There is not an indication that this is a duplicate that needs correction, but having a family connection, I do believe this is the same person and needs to be merged. There was also a duplicate for his wife, Olive, but I was able to merge the two Olive Johnsons. Thank you. Pam Jesperson

The system does not flag as duplicates: J.K. McCall 9M4K-ZHB and John Keener McCall KC1B-KJ3, because the names are so different, and one has no dates. But you can merge the two, by using the Merge by ID function. To do this, get the ID from J.K. McCall 9M4K-ZHB, and then go to the Person Page for John Keener McCall KC1B-KJ3, and scroll down until you see in the rightmost column, under Tools, Merge by ID. Click on that and paste in the saved ID for J.K. McCall 9M4K-ZHB, and complete the merge. For a reason, you can say, same spouse, same marriage date. Then Olive will end up with just one husband instead of two named McCall.

Thank you for the answer to my question. With the information you provided I was successfully able to merge the two names together as one person. I appreciate the clear explanation of how to merge by ID.

    With much thanks, Pam
