The last two batches for South African Burial records I have downloaded are only grave/lot number recordings. They only have names and grave numbers, no dates or birthdates. Do I index these and only enter the name, marking everything else as blank? They don’t even list the cemetery. They just say city of Johannesburg.

Index both batches, blanking out everything else.

Yes, index the name and mark everything else blank. This is from the Field Help (purple question mark). This is for a day (death/burial/birth), but it's a general guideline of what to do when something is not recorded.

If the day was not recorded or was written as a variation of the word "unknown," press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.

Thanks for your help. I guess my question really is if these count as burial records or should be marked as a non-extractable file. The directions say not to index anything that isn't a burial record, so I wasn't sure if this counted or not.

Could you provide the batch code? The batch code is seven digits in brackets located at the top of your indexing screen and looks like this [1111-AAA]. You can also find the code under Batch --> About Batch on the upper left hand side of the screen.

Yes. They are [M3LN-5C3] and [M3LN-5HZ]. Sadly, there is no sample in the instructions for this type of file. Thanks Again!
