Batch [M3LY-8L6] I just started reviewing this batch after having indexed about 200 of them. I had read the project helps and field helps many times and thought I understood them well. This indexer has made 3 entries out of the single image by including a Birth/Baptism entry for the husband and and one for the wife.

Project helps do say to index all marriage, birth/baptism, burial, etc records. I did not include births for the spouses on these particular single marriage records as I had indexed them.

What is the correct way to index marriage records if a birth date happens to be included?

Unless the project instructions have a special instruction to index EACH event, then you would only index the marriage on a marriage register. The example for How to Index a Marriage Register says nothing about creating birth and baptism records.

I agree with you that the instructions say only to index the marriage and not create a record for each of the birthdays. I would delete the two birth records, but, wait for more opinions.

Hi Mary, yes just the marriage info is indexed for this record, delete the additional birth entries 2&3 that have been wrongly created

@Melissa S Himes @gary_noble Thank you both for your suggestions. I have done as you suggested and so far I have not found another batch done with separate baptism entries for the spouses.
