Reviewing these marriage records. Indexers are consistently putting the city, state, county they were married in. In my opinion these licenses list the date of marriage, but they do not really state WHERE they were married - they just state where they obtained the license. Should the question be marked BLANK ?

When I tried to open the batch I got the batch restricted message.

I opened another batch and checked the project instructions and examples.

Example #1 in the project instructions show the information at the bottom of the form as follows:

    30. Marriage Place: Lebanon, Boone, Indiana

From what I can see the indexers are following the project instructions.

    Larry is correct.

At the bottom of the record, it has Return of Marriage License and Marriage Certificate. The first part deals with the issuance of the marriage license. The second part deals with the marriage place and begins with Be it further remembered, the following marriage certificate was filed in my office to-wit:

This lists the officiant, groom, bride, wedding date and place of wedding. An example would be "I, Bob Johnson hereby certify that on 5th July 2022 at Lebanon, Boone, Indiana..." Lebanon, Boone, Indiana is your marriage place, in that order (you go from smallest to largest).
