Indexing is really fun once you do it for a while!
Here are a couple of videos that will teach you about indexing.
My favorite is Indexing Discussion (Jason Pierson Live)
with Jason Pierson who helped develop web indexing and Wendy Smedley from FamilySearch. The indexing lesson starts at the 8 minute mark.
The other one is also produced by BYU with Kathryn Grant.

Melissa has some really excellent links to help you! One thing to note is that the projects vary quite a bit so what might be really hard in one project might be a snap for you in another project. Do not hesitate to send back the ones you feel uncomfortable doing.
