Lines 10, 11, and 12. Names are being skipped.
Is there a process provided where we may insert names that are being skipped?

They were likely not missed, but rather someone else came in by searching on that specific surname and did a few names and then left. The system tracks every field to ensure it's done. :)

@cutlerjamesrichard1 From the FAQ sheet: "What should I do if names are missing from the list where I select people? Click Feedback and then check the “The index is missing names” box. We are able to add the missing names through another system."
From the wording, it appears that the ability to indicate that names were missed will become available when Family Review becomes an option. For the current name review option, it appears that you can just not worry about it and assume it will get caught in name review. The FAQ document is very helpful, by the way. You might want to take a look:

In the batch I was working on for names in the 1950 census, the highlight mark does not line up with the name in question. Sometimes it highlights smack in the middle of 2 names on 2 lines. Is there a way to realign the highlight? I should have taken a screenshot (sorry). It started out all right, but by the 5th name, it was spanning 2 names. I sent it back. What should I have done?

Yup, some highlights won't match up. The highlight cannot be adjusted. Here's what FAQs says:
Capture the requested information, whether or not the highlights cover the words exactly. It could be off either horizontally or vertically.
For example, both the first and middle names should be included in the First Name field, even though the highlight may not cover them entirely.

Yes. Unlike regular indexing, you aren't given a "batch" or page to review. Users can search for surnames to index individually, so a household/family might be skipped on a page. Also, if a person clicked "Unsure" for a part of a name it will be reviewed by another person at some point.

Does anyone know how to deal with a surname not being picked up by the OCR? Given name is fine, but the surname is totally skipped. I've seen this twice and the white box doesn't give any opportunity to add anything (same thing with suffixes that are skipped) by the reviewer.

Hey Family Search Community first Thank you Employee's and Missionaries for all you do!!!! You are the best! Second has anyone noticed it skipping large groups of names on occasion???? I have had several incidents in the last two days. And there seems to be no way to go back or add a name that is completely skipped by the "AI" Suggestions are appreciated. It hurts whenever I see it skipping a name I don't want anyone to slip thru the cracks! When I catch it and it will allow me I do create a note that states something like "between smiths and jones it skipped two names" but sometimes I notice it skip at the end of a page and when it jumps to the next page there is no way back : (

COMMENT: That is likely because the remainder of lines may have been already been reviewed be someone else. When selecting 20 to review, it generally does NOT use a whole page. Also sometimes, people simply don't complete a full page, which may fit into the new request by another

I am putting this here, because I don't know where else to put it. On sheet #23, AZ, Pima, Tucson, E D # 10-78, names have been skipped.

On AZ,Maricopa, Phoenix, ED# 15-66, sheet #10, and AZ,Gila,Globe ED#4-2, sheet#79, names are being skipped.

It's possible that someone else had already reviewed the name that was skipped.

If you're reviewing Names, I think your only option is to click on "Transcription Error" and select the option "Incomplete." That should draw the attention of the team responsible for reviewing Transcription Errors. They can determine why those names were skipped and perhaps tweak the AI algorithm accordingly.
When we get to review Families, the person who does that image should be able to add the missing entries.
Perhaps @Janell Vasquez would like to confirm or correct my response.

Has anyone noticed that from time to time the review will skip over an entire family or group of people and not allow it to be reviewed. Does this mean they will not be included in the result?

The help page says there is a Feedback to send this info, but I haven't found it. Maybe during the Family Grouping process, extra lines can be added

Someone else may have started that page but not finished it. If they search for a surname to index, it takes them to it mid-page, and they may not have continued past that family.

How can I tell if skipped names were already reviewed or the AI missed them? Do I report all as errors?

I have been indexing a lot of records, and I'm finding that anytime the page isn't straight people will be skipped somewhere between line 15 and 25 depending on how crooked it is, I've had this happen about 100 times so far.
If you correct them, then you have a problem with losing a whole family instead of a family member because you don't have access to the surname on the next line.
I've been flagging them as a trancription error MISSING LINE, but I really wish that when I see it I had something more to correct this when I am there already.

For California, Santa Barbara County, Twp. 2, E.D. 42-73, Sheet number 80: The original page was not scanned correctly, and line 16 is crimped and only partially viewable...and line 17 is in a fold and totally unseen and unviewable in the document under review for indexing. I wanted to point out that this is not going to get extracted until a different copy of the page is obtained from whatever United States Dept has the originals. This was a poor microfilming job, prior to the digitization and original records will have to be accessed to fix this problem. I am mentioning this specifically, because in indexing the 1950 US Federal Census since the project began, this is NOT the first instance of folds in the document I have found. The record will be incomplete on familysearch.org unless there is some way to note this error....it will not "get done later" if these are the ONLY scans familysearch.org has in their possession. A new digitization will need to be done from originals and I'm not sure anyone has yet addressed this issue.

vickyg2003 ---the comment made by vickyg2003 is completely accurate. PEOPLE ARE BEING MISSED IN THIS CENSUS FOR EXTRACTION due to the indexing program misaligning the names. The only way to properly account for every name is to add it in order, even if the highlight is not hovering over said name. I arbitrate as well and have been doing name indexing/extraction for decades, and this program could use a bit of a revamp to straighten the highlighting tool manually, so that EVERY record can be extracted. It appears that myriad names will potentially be left out of the indexing, and thus waste time down the road for researchers who can't find their ancestors, and for indexers assigned to try to retrieve missing names in later indexing "re-dos" when someone notices that there are problems with the scans .

AHHH NO. Family review does NOT allow adding missing surnames. This is soooo discouraging - missing parts of names - that I just want to quit until FH and their AI get it right and correct the pages.
