    @braveheart7273

    FYI

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, with what appears to be your first post.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

'FamilySearch' has a Number of "Parts" ...

And, we understand the reference to "Image Group Number (DGS)" 004017337

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/259131?availability=Family%20History%20Library

    image.png

    But ...

    That Said ...

Just to be clear; and, for clarification ...

Question: In what "Part", of 'FamilySearch', are you referring?

[ eg. An individual/person; or, the "Index" of a (that) particular Record ... ]

▬ the "Family Tree" Part; or,

▬ the "Search" (Records) Part; or,

    ▬ the "Genealogies" Part; or,

    ▬ the "Discovery Pages", of "Ancestors,FamilySearch" [ .org ]

    ▬ Elsewhere in 'FamilySearch'

    Please advise.

    eg.

▬ "Family Tree" = 'FamilySearch Person Identifier" (PID)

    ▬ "Search" (Records) = URL of Record/Source

▬ "Genealogies" = URL of the Reference

▬ "Discovery Pages", of "Ancestors,FamilySearch" [ .org ] = URL of the Reference

Knowing such, would enable us to better help/assist.

    Just my thoughts.

The microfilm was correct but the information shown on family search was typed incorrectly. the mother's name is Ella J. Hershberger and family search shows Ella J. Hersaberger.

    @braveheart7273

    FYI

    Right ...

So, it is the "Transcription", in the "Index", of the Record, on the Microfilm, that is incorrect ...

    Is that the case?

Some "Indexes" can be "Edited" (ie, "Corrected"), by us Users/Patrons.

Whereas, some "Indexes" CANNOT be "Edited", by us Users/Patrons.

    So ...

    That Said ...

    I just too a 'look' ...

There are TWO (x2) "Indexes", in that particular Film, for Myrte May BAUM

[ Which have ALREADY been attached to Myrte May BAUM ... ( 9MKM-J5D )

[ 1 ] One, With an (READILY) associated "Image"; which, appears to be correct ...

........ Where the "Index" CAN be "Edited" (ie, "Corrected"), by us Users/Patrons - if need be

    Index

    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X6X3-7RX

    Image

    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GRYW-S6ZP?i=13

    and

[ 2 ] Another, With an associated "Image", that we must search for; so as, to ascertain correctness ...

........ BUT, where the "Index" CANNOT be "Edited" (ie. "Corrected"), by us Users/Patrons

    Index

    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XX73-3BY

    Image

One NEEDS to search for such

    Now ...

    That Said ...

Getting, a "Transcription", of a "Name", corrected, by the "System", does not often happen.

    So ...

IF, you are referring that SECOND Reference; THEN, the best course, of action, would be, to make a "Note", of the Correct "Spelling" of the Mother's "Name", in the "Title" and "Body" lie. (1) "Describe the Record (Notes)"; and, (2) "Reason to Change Source" ] of that "Source", rather than "Trying" to get such corrected, through, the "System".

I do such, all the time ...

[ Best; easiest; and quickest, way ... ]

    Just my thoughts.

    Brett

ps: The "Index" still DID its job, the "Records" (ie. "Sources"), where found; and, are attached ...

    @braveheart7273

    Arlene

You may, certainly, be correct ...

As, I did not go searching, for the associated "Image", on:

    The "Source" in 'FamilySearch':

    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XX73-3BY

    But ...

    That Said ...

    It makes NO difference ...

As, I advised in my previous 'Comment' ...

▬ Currently, it CANNOT be "Edited" (ie. "Corrected"), by us Users/Patrons ...

    and ...

▬ Getting, such a "Transcription", of a "Name", corrected, by the "System", does not often happen ...

    As such ...

I would seriously recommend, that the best course, of action, would be, to make a "Note", of the Correct "Spelling" of the Mother's "Name", in the "Title" and "Body" lie.

    Brett

ps: REGARDLESS, the "Index", still DID its job, the "Records" (ie. "Sources"), where found; and, are attached ...

pps: And, here are some "knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':
