We indexed a birth affidavit with the mothers name but no fathers name, and we did not know what to put for the required field.

Check your field helps. They are accessed by clicking on the purple check marks that appear when you click on a field. These will give you more instructions on what to do for each field.

If it is a required field, it will have an asterisk beside the field title. Then you must render the field blank using the command Ctrl + B or Cmd + B on a Mac. If there is no asterisk, it is not required and may be tabbed over.

@robertbrucethayer1 Yes i agree with what @Melissa S Himes said, just put Ctrl+B to mark it blank. We are just here taking info from paper, and turning it into digital info online, so if its not there dont worry our job is done. :)
