Missouri County Marriages - What is the significance of the "C" in front of some entries?

I am working on the US, Missouri—County Marriages, 1806–1969 project and noticed some entries have a "C" in front of them. I am wondering if this means anything relative to indexing. The project instructions don't mention anything about it.

    It may be an indication for "Colored". Since there is no field to record it, just ignore it.

    We do not know what the 'C' stands for so ignore it as Judyannehenry1 suggested.
