US, Massachusetts—Boston Tax Records, 1822–1918 [Part G][M3C5-LND]
How would the first entry be indexed? Curtis as surname and Blake as given? Or are both surnames to be indexed on separate lines. This makes a difference to the entire record.

Thank you for providing the batch code.
Curtis would be the surname for all those first name starting with Blake until you see a new surname.
This document contains implied dittoes, we would index the names as if there were actually ditto marks below the surname.
General Indexing Guidelines, Ditto Marks, Bullet Point #3, indicates that we are able to use contextual information to determine if the information is dittoed.

The record was Curtis & Blake, not Curtis, Blake. The previous image all had the surname Curtis. The instructions say do not index names of companies or trusts. But, I suppose it doesn't hurt to over-index.

If I were reviewing this, I would simply delete the first entry based on this project instruction:
Index all names except those listed in the "Owner" or "Remarks" columns, or names of companies or trusts.
This looks like the name of a company.
