Just curious. From time to time I'm coming upon naturalization records in which naturalization has been denied. So far they're all for people born in the 19th century and I'm wondering why naturalization might have been denied for them. Anyone have a thought about that?

There are many reasons for naturalizations being denied. I have seen everything from unbecoming behavior, to not remaining in the country for the designated time period, to having been convicted of a crime, as being reasons for denials.

You're up awfully late 😄. But thank you; those reasons make sense. No reasons are given on the particular batches I'm working with just now so I wondered.
