confused about year of this record US, Virginia—Death Records, 1853–1900[M371-H6Q]

This Death Record for Buchanan County VA is labeled 1875. At the end of the record it is certified as being accepted January 18, 1876. However, at the top of the document it says: Register of Deaths...in the year ending 31 December 1874. I'm confused. It looks like it is a record of deaths in 1874 from the heading.

    Thanks for your patience to receive an answer.

    The Field Help says, "If you cannot determine the 4-digit year, mark the death year field blank."

    I was able to view the batch earlier but it is no longer available for viewing. It seemed in my opinion that the death dates entered for each person took place in 1874. You may make your best judgement or mark the field blank.
