Henry of Monmouth 9th great-grandparents are also my 25th great-grandparents. Am I right in calculating that he is therefore my 26th cousin, 16 times removed?

Thanks!

    Hello @Jon Strebler

I'm not an expert but using the info in

    https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/what-is-a-second-cousin/

I calculate you to be 10th cousins 16 times removed.

    regards

    9th great-grandchild & 25th great-grandchild

The cousin degree is 10th Cousins ... (the 9th great-grandchild + 1 generation). Remember to use the cousin closest to the common ancestor.

The generation difference is 16 times removed ... (25th-9th). The number of generations between them.

    = 10C16R
