US, New York, Catskills—Index to Land Records, Grantors indexing questions

I am indexing a page from US, New York, Catskills—Index to Land Records, Grantors, 1630-1975 [Part A][MS7Q-671]. Here is the link:

https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/batch/81928c76-9d31-4f8a-af5b-9de29044ad00

My questions are: 1. There is a line where "wife" is listed as a second grantor. I assume I should list another line for her and leave the given name blank. Is that correct? 2. There are many entries for both grantor and grantee that say "elano" after the name. Is that a legal term or should it be considered a name?

Hi Donna. Thanks for sharing the batch. You would not create a record for the wife since her name is not mentioned on the document. We don't assume surnames from others mentioned in the documents. So you cannot assume that her surname matches her husband's surname.

I think that elano is actually "et ano" which is a legal term for "and another".
