on my family years ago

My mother found black while searching for her ancestors and I am trying to find out if there is black people in my family and how can I find them to put in my family. She stopped when she seen it but since she is deceased i have been looking for my family It was a Kelley or Kelly family back in the 1800 or earlier. Can you help/

    @barbaraRausch1 barbaraRausch1​ do you know what location this was? (City/county/state) and what is the family name this is associated with? Have you started a FSFT? If so can you paste a link here so the volunteers will know they are researching the right family 😊

    I think it was back around Virginia I know a lot of the Kelley family came from England also. She didn't discuss with me after that so I went searching after her death. I have found a Kelley generation but still am not qite sure that it is the right one. Seems to be but want to know if I have another family that I do not know. O do not know how to do what you are asking me to do. Please explain. I am 77 years old and slow but can do if explained. Thank you for writing. Barbara Rausch
