In German church records, I've found several instances of what appears to be the husband taking the

Example: Married 1820: Joe John Jones ( Father: John John Jones)

Ann Smith (Father: Joe Smith).

Born 1822: Joe Ray Smith- Father: Joe John Smith

Mother: Ann Smith ( geb. Jones)

Born 1824: Joe Joe Smith - Father: John John Jones

Mother: Ann Smith

(Changing the names, this is exactly what I'm running int)
