How to add and/or merge living person records to my family?

On my wife's account in familyserach.org, under Family Tree, Tree tab, landscape view, she has a record number of: KW6L-F32.

When I log into my familysearch.org, under Family Tree, Tree tab, landscape view, my wife has a record number of: LJZQ-G7L.

So these are two different records. However, when we try to merge them by ID, it says no way, can't do it. :( <- sad face!!!

So my question is how do we merge records of living people? Our kids are in this same boat.

Thanks!

Ryan

living persons only exist and can only be seen and merged in the account they are created in. This is for security and privacy reasons and is totally by design.

You cannot merge living people in two different accounts.

They can only be merged once they have both been marked as deceased and subsequently show up in the main part of the FSFT where they can both be seen by everyone.
