Why is indexing so important?

    with out it - how would we ever know where to look for the people we are researching?

    Indexing makes records searchable which is vital in family history. If a record is unindexed, it is unfindable.

     

    When we receive "hints" about a record that could be a relative, it's because someone indexed that record.
