The same word is written right before Joh[ann] Wendel Weiß's name. Wilhelm is often abbreviated Wilh. But what looks like a second "L" in this entry is actually just an abbreviation symbol, so the word in the record is written "weil [abbreviation]." which is short for "weiland" (deceased).

My first thought is that it would be an abbreviation for William because of the two "L"s written. What does anyone else think?
