Could you please direct me to resources for learning political and social history of Pfalz, Bavaria
In 1833 church records show my ancestors married in Evangelisch, Edenkoben, Pfalz, Bavaria. In 1835,36,38, and 1841 their children were baptized in Lutherische, Germersheim, Pfalz, Bavaria. In US church records one child reports her birthplace as Schwegheim, Bavaria. It appears these places are within a few miles of each other. The family immigrated to Ohio in 1861.

In 1832 there was an important political/social event in the Pfalz, the Hambach Festival. I learned about this in the process of asking similar questions about my family. This short Wikipedia article is a good place to start: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hambach_Festival.
