Who's visiting the Family History Library in Utah anytime soon?
Hello All,
I'm looking to retrieve a photocopy of my twice great grandparents marriage license. It hasn't been digitized yet and they aren't sending micro fiche's anymore. So my only recourse is to see see if anyone is going there and can do me a favor and get a copy and send it to me. I'm willing to pay for it.

I am copying this to the @Family History Research group, there may be more people there who can help with this request.

Hi Janell, I live an hour away from SLC so I don't go that often but am willing if other ideas don't work for you. I'd suggest this wonderful lady who does this on a daily basis. She can be seen on Facebook - Genealogy with Jan https://www.facebook.com/groups/404092576723771/ Good luck and let me know if you still need assistance.

Hi Shari,
Janell copied this here for me. I actually reached out to Jan. She couldn't really help because this hasn't been digitized yet so I can only copied in FHL in SLC. If you are able to help me. I would appreciate it so much.

Cedric, I'm currently in Arizona but if you share the fiche number and the individuals sought so all can see it someone will likely help. When I return to Utah I'll see if you still need assistance.

Have you checked with the County the marriage occurred in to see if the local genealogical society, or library, has digitized it? Or even written to the County Court House to see if they will copy and send it to you? I have found records through other organizations that the Church hasn't touched, yet. As an example, my wife has been working with German Church records from the 1700 and 1800's on Microfilm. Unfortunately the Church hasn't digitized them. This past week I found a German web site that has digitized all of the records, and more, making them available to search the images on-line free.

I am at the FHL twice a week as a missionary. I would be happy to try to find this for you - just need the film number and the info that you need and the best way to get it to you.

Digitized or indexed? MILLIONS upon millions are on wiki. There is great tutorial how to find the elusive records via using wild cards. Have you used this tool?

Thanks for the info. I am in the same boat with not being able to access a microfilm that is in Salt Lake at the FHL - I wish it was a film I could request to a local FHL. Good luck on your journey too!
