Tagging Photos
When uploading a photo from a person's profile the tag is usually automatic. But I frequently find the red exclamation point still asking for a tag. If I create another tag I now have 2 tags with the same person's name. Can you help me solve this problem?

are you referring to a in image file or a pdf file.
for image files - it does link the item to the person when you upload it.
but the actual tag of WHERE in the photo the person is located - still has to be set on that link.
the next time this happens - send me a link and show me and then I will tell you how to proceed.

I am referring to an image file. I am wondering if it is happening because there are multiple people in the photo and I have uploaded it to an individual and then seem to have problems linking it to others. Maybe I should upload it straight to the gallery then tag people? If you go to this individual M9BM-Z58 you will see some of the ones that have problems. Thanks

I do see some weird inconsistencies and some confusing nuances with how the tagging is working
Im not sure if this is the result of a new change or not.
I am going to contact the engineers and see what they know.
in the mean time - are you aware how you can delete the duplicates?
you can get to the "delete" option - by clicking on the icon in the screen shot below

one work around - is indeed as you say - to upload to the gallery first and then tag
but the other options is simply to EDIT the tag - when you first upload it
(it is actually creating the first tag automatically - with the tag covering the entire image - and that si what is causing your confusion . . .
I agree the way it is working is causing confusion and possible duplicates due to the confusion.

Thanks, yes I have gone in on some and deleted the tags. I have also deleted and reuploaded the photo and it still happened.

Try to edit the tag. you should be able to resize it, to cover just the person's face.
