How to access certain military records
Hello,
I am looking at this page:
--which has a great list of records. Some of them, I find available in the FHL on microfilm. I am specifically interested in my ancestor´s application for a pension as a widow of a calvaryman / hussar, in 1864 or 1865. The "Pensionsansökningar" record has the exact right subject, but wrong time period. I will plan to visit the FHL and check the "Handlingar", hopefully it will include widow´s pensions info.
But, if I wanted to see the "Meritförteckningar" (as a side track) where would I find it? The page does not say anything about accessing the records. Would I need to visit or write to the Krigskollegiet?
I find records on RiksArkivet for the Krigskollegiet, but get sent to a reading room sign up. I´m not sure if that means a digital reading room--as in online access-- for if I´m signing up to be at an archive library in Sweden somewhere . . . pretty important to know ; )
Thank you in advance.

Hello @Ellen Zaifnejad ,
Glad you found the article in the FamilySearch Wiki informative. If FamilySearch does not have the years that you need for the Pensionsansökningar you check Nationell Arkivdatabas to see if there are volumes for the desired years. If yes, you could contact Riksarkivet by email to see if you can arrange for someone to do a lookup.
For the Meritförteckningar, I did a keyword search in the FamilySearch catalog and found these are available through FamilySearch at https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/457091?availability=Family%20History%20Library.
When you see a message on Riksarkivet that says you can have an item sent to the reading room, it is referring to the archive in Sweden where the original records are stored.
Happy searching,
Geoff
