Contact Name on New Platform
The FamilySearch Community went to a new platform on March 15th. We have noticed not all members of the groups came over to the new platform from the old one. You may notice your contact name shows up as to either User1 followed by a string of numbers, or your previous contact name followed by several numbers. This should correct automatically once you sign in to the group. If it doesn't automatically correct, you can correct your contact name by:
1. Go to FamilySearch.org and sign in
2. Click on your name in the upper right corner (next to the bell) and choose Settings
3. Select Edit Names
4. Change your contact name to something with two names for example John Johnson instead of johnjohnson followed by a series of numbers.
In a day or so the system will update your name in the community and your contact name will show as you typed it.
