Changing Incorrect Gender
Someone created a record for my mother from a church Census record. In that record, my mother is listed as a male. The person created a male record for my mother. Now there is this incorrect male record for my mother and it shows temple work being needed.
Of course, my mother's correct record already exists with her temple work, many memories, etc. I realize that if I change the sex on the incorrect record from male to female and then combine the two records, it will cause problems with my mother's already completed temple work. I have asked the person to delete his/her incorrect record but to no avail. What is the best course of action to solve this problem.

Changing the sex on a record and them merging will not cause any problem with her ordinance page whatsoever. So just go ahead and make the correction then merge in the duplicate.
(It is true that a few years ago doing this then required you to contact Support and fix the ordinance page but that was fixed many updates ago. It can take some time for the part of the database the handles ordinances to sync with the Family Tree page, so if things look funny initially, just refresh the page a few times.)
