Youth Password Activity

"Relative Finder" is popular and gives something to talk about. You should have your generations in the tree for it to work, but most youth do, if their parents have their trees.

Using the app and doing Relatives Around Me is always informative for them.
Using Ordinances Ready is rewarding and easy.
Look at the new fan chart display options of Birth Country and also Stories and find out stories they can read. Photo option is also interesting.
There is also games on https://fhtl.byu.edu/ that you could show them how to use so they can do it with their families.
Relative Finder is great. Be prepared to simply show them how to count on the relationship chart to understand what a 7th cousin 3 times removed means.
Puzzilla is a great way to help them get a perspective of descendancy.

Some features that the Family History Library has are now available on https://www.familysearch.org/discovery/ and they're super fun to get people started!

Hi!
My apologies... I should have shared my ideas first....A little background... Our stake assigns only 2 wards per building. We are permanently the second ward and have a "linger longer" activity after 2nd hour block to encourage fellow-shipping. We think this is a great time to promote FH!
- I'm new to the ward.
- We are working hard to craft a ward FH plan!!!!
- Prior to next linger/longer, I have been asked to work with the youth consultants and their parents to review ID/password how-to's and the apps. My thoughts are if you can get the parent buy-in first, they are going to be more supportive of their child's calling. Working together for that 1:1 experience with the family first I see as beneficial. I have 2 youth TFHC that are frustrated because they haven't been trained and don't know what to do with their calling
- This ward has attempted to embrace FH before with little progress, it was evident in Ward Council that nearly all attendee's were frustrated as well...
- During Linger/Longer we want to have a "Tech Time" corner where our Youth TFHC can assist the ward with FS login and sharing the Memories/FT apps. We would start to keep a record of who we have helped and who had the apps on their phone
- To get people to remember their ID/Password, we were going to encourage them to document it in the notes section of their phone. Thoughts on this?
- For each linger/longer, the youth would lead the "Relatives around me" time to get people interested in getting a login so they can participate as well.
Part of Ward FH Plan is a long term goal to have either a "Relative Race" to the Temple in December or a "Happy Birthday to the Savior" activity in December.
Will continue! have to leave for a bit.

Those sound great. I have been thinking if each member of the ward could have the app on their phone/ipad then that would be an amazing feat. As far as remembering their password and ID, I have a contact on my phone where I keep the passwords/usernames! it works well. I don't always put the whole password in.
