The Magnifying Glass doesn't work too well! Permission Problems.

I clicked the magnifying glass to test the idea that is pinned. I searched for the most common problem using batch won't submit. The first 4 results I clicked on took me to a screen Permission Problem - You don't have permission to do that. The 5th result doesn't have an answer to the question, only asks for a shared batch. The 6th and 7th results have a Permission Problem. The 8th result is viewable and does not have the correct answer. The 9th result has a correct answer.

It appears that those queries that have accepted answers are viewable and those that only have answered take us to the Permission Problem screen.

Also the tag for this query of Batch Won't Submit is Improve Place Names. The tags for Maiden Names are plentiful.

Typing Determining a Maiden Name in the search bar is even more fun. The creators should try it.

Please, can't we just go back to the "golden days" and have one User Guide with all the General Indexing Guidelines and How to Use the Program in one place? It was so much easier.

It sounds like you used the Search Box in this Indexing Help Center category and did not get the results you were looking for. This should pull up results of questions asked by other guests in this forum that relate to the topic you enter. You can read those questions and responses to determine if they apply to your situation. The "Accepted Answer" is marked by the guest or a moderator if they feel it answered that particular question. The "Answered" questions have at least one answer, but no answer has yet been marked as Accepted. I clicked on one of those "Answered" questions and see what you are saying - you are taken to a screen that looks like this:

That does not appear to be working correctly and we will report it. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will report it to the engineers.

You also get the same Permission Problem by clicking on the Yes and No - did this answer the question. I answered No, but, I am glad you understood my post and hopefully the engineers will be able to fix the problem. I suggest removing the pinned post until that happens. It is never good to launch a product that doesn't work.

Additionally, we do not have Permission to use the vote arrows in the Ideas section.
