Crewe by Farndon, Cheshire, England
There are three places in Cheshire with a similar name:
- Crewe by Farndon, in the west of the county;
- The railway town of Crewe in the south-east - which exists only after the coming of the railways;
- The township / civil parish of Crewe aka Crewe Green, immediately adjacent to the railway town, which existed for centuries before the coming of the railways and was in a different parish.
Some degree of tweaking of their entries would help.
For Crewe by Farndon, the standard place entry has the two names "Crewe by Farndon, Cheshire, England" and "Crewe by Farndon, Cheshire, England, United Kingdom". This is OK for me. However, the Basic Information for the former is empty (apart from the latitude and longitude) and the Basic Information for the latter is wholly incorrect as it is an extract of the Wikipedia entry for the railway town of Crewe.
Please replace the text entry in the Basic Information for both place-names by either this text taken from Wikipedia or any variation / summary that you care to construct:
"Crewe by Farndon is a settlement and former civil parish, now in the parish of Farndon, in the borough of Cheshire West and Chester and ceremonial county of Cheshire in England. In 2001 it had a population of around 45. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 and merged into Farndon"
The Wikipedia cross reference should direct the reader to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crewe_by_Farndon
