I believe the attached entry shows the second marriage of Emilie Louise Marie Geleng to August Keller. There are also margin notes from 1897 with further information. Could someone please translate the record and notes? I would like to get a full picture of what this is. Thanks, Randy Merton

    Hello @Robert Seal_1 ,

Thank you so much for the thorough translation. This is particularly interesting because they were living a few houses apart on the same street and then married at ages 60 and 55. I don't imagine divorce was very common in 1897 so things must have been pretty bad for them to divorce after only three years.

    Regards,

    Randy

    Hello @Robert Seal_1

I was not aware of Emilie Geleng's divorce before your translation. The notes obviously related to the marriage but I did not know how.

I am working to go further back in our family history but am still in the mid-1800's so need to do a lot more work to go back as far as you have.

    Randy
