Multiple Christenings in different churches for same family?

I have been researching my family line and I see what appear to be multiple christenings for the same children from the same family. Was this a common thing or am I dealing with different families? For example, I see christenings that occur in South Wingfield, Derbyshire and then somewhat later christenings for what might be the same child in Crich, Derbyshire. This seems to be occurring during the 1760's to 1780's.

There is definitely some interesting happenings in the family during this time so I might have to be more specific but in general wondering if this practice would occur.

There are probably different sets of circumstances whereby this practice might occur. You probably would need to be more specific - e.g. providing links to any FamilySearch online records, if available.

My experience of individuals being baptised twice has been mainly confined to where there has been a "private" baptism at the time of the birth (probably at home, if the child was not expected to survive), then baptised again some months later in a formal, church ceremony.

However, I am not sure if you are giving an example of several children of the same family all being baptised at the same time and place and this practice being repeated (for what appears to be the same individuals) at another church, some time later.

As I write, I feel even more strongly that you will have to provide some more specific detail - e.g. was one set of baptisms related to an Anglican church and the other non-conformist baptisms? I have certainly seen this - but usually the children have been baptised individually (i.e. on different dates) in the C of E church, then all at the same time in the non-conformist chapel.

Then again, as you suggest, perhaps there are two families (of very similar identity, possibly close relatives) involved here.
