I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I am a stake temple and family history consult
I was called to be over indexing in the stake. I think the new idea is that all consultants are now considered both indexing and family history consultants with training in both areas. Is that right?

@KillpackShaunaJean1 KillpackShaunaJean1 Everyone called to serve in the stake with you, is essentially a Temple and Family History Consultant. You could check the church handbook to verify, but I would think that you, as the leader are enabled to select certain consultants to oversee certain aspects of the work. Have you reviewed the information supplied by The Church here?:
Temple and Family History Callings
https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/family-history/temple-family-history-consultant?lang=eng
and here?:
Temple and Family History Callings

Have either of these helped? If not, please let me know, and I'm happy to research more with you!

In my estimation, Family Tree and Indexing go hand in hand. We need to make records available so we can find our ancestors or perhaps add critical missing data and take their names to the temple. What did we use to say? Indexing is the fuel that runs FamilySearch.
