@KarenAnneVanOrman Most of the time, it is best to use "ask a question" - do this by selecting the arrow to the right of "new discussion". Asking a question allows you to accept the answer or let us know you would like more help.
We are so glad you are part of this great community!

Thank you. I did not notice the drop down with "Ask a Question". I will do this in the future. Thanks for your help.

Hi KarenAnne,
Last week you posted a question about finding your ancestor and I had a hard time answering it. Today I looked for the question and I can't find it. Here is the response that I couldn't get to send:
This is mostly a Poland question because this child was born in the modern Gdank, Poland area in Pomerania. On the Poland wiki page, there is a link to a great website that you should look at called the Polish Vital Records Databases: FBPGG - Collections and databases (google.com) FBPGG . Also in the Poland wiki site, click on Pomerania on the map and it will take you to information about your specific voivodeship of Pomerania and many online databases that you can look at.
One of these websites that are specific to that area that might be especially helpful is the Pomeranian Genealogical Association website PTG Pomorskie Towarzystwo Genealogiczne :: Search PomGenBase
The town that this couple lived in is Koliebken. One of the first things you do is to find the place and all of the jurisdictions that it belonged to, as well as the parish that holds the records. Good gazetteers are Kartenmeister Information on German City of Koliebken (kartenmeister.com) and Meyersgaz Koliebken (meyersgaz.org).
Good luck as you do some more research on this person and when you look and find more questions, I would post them to the Poland page.
