I'm looking at the children of Christen Hansen (MXP6-335) and Mari Engebretsdatter (MXP2-1CG) by referencing this online geneology: http://onshus.no/getperson.php?personID=I27379&tree=tre. There are 3 children listed here that I'm looking for the sources for. I find in the DA what I think are the records. First, for the twins born 17 April 1867 here: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/8947/43622/26 (right hand side of the page, last columns, 17 Apr No. 3.)

And for the child born 16 Feb 1870 here:https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/8947/43622/34 (right hand side of the page, last columns, 16 Feb, N. 2)

I can see the parents names and the dates, but don't know what the other words mean. Can someone give me a hand with these records? Thanks!

I am sure that the twins' still-born birth record matches your online genealogy. It reports that the male child lived for 1/8 hour and was christened with the name Hans. Apparently the female child was not christened.

The parents, unkarl (batchelor or farmhand) Christen Hansen and pige (maid) Mari Engebretsdatter, are reported to have married later.

The still-born births were reviewed (reported) on 18 April 1867 by Johanne Eriksdatter Hage.

The twins were buried 23 April 1867, and the "jordfæste" was held on 17 May 1867. "Jordfæste" is a ceremonial sprinkling of earth on the coffin by the priest. My understanding of this is that if the priest was not available to perform the burial, a pole touching the coffin would be left sticking out of the ground and the priest would pull it out and pour some dirt into the hole.

The other record (16 February 1870) is for a male child born to the same parents, who are married. After Christen Hansen's name is the name, I think, of a place-Opsahleje. There is a farm in Ringebu called Opsal nordre and "eje" often denotes "ownership or owner".

The notes say something about 10 months, but I can't quite figure out what it means. And there may be a note that there are not any living children at the house. Not entirely sure about that though.

The still-birth was received (reported) 28 February 1870.
