Does this group include research in Guernsey, Channel Isles?
I am new to genealogy research and new to the community groups. I have ancestors that lived in Guernsey. In looking through this community group, I didn't see anything about Guernsey. I read that Guernsey is a territory and therefore not a part of England or the UK. Is that correct? What is the proper way to record that area?

Whilst there are opposing views as to whether the Channel Isles do form a part of the British Isles, for the purpose of this forum I would definitely say this is the best place to post your queries relating to Guernsey.

This page on the wiki might be of use: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Guernsey,_Channel_Islands_Genealogy. There are links to transcriptions of the church records--the images themselves are only available at the Priaulx Library on Guernsey. There are also civil registration records starting in 1840, and we have most of them on FamilySearch.
