Elizabeth Wills 5 July 1696 LHVR-B4B: Can somone read the last name in a baptismal entry?
I am reaching the end of the line as far as sourcing goes. I am questioning the marriage of Elizabeth Wills (Wells) to Thomas Clamp was well as her parentage. There is lack of sources explaining how people living far apart met and married. I think some sources might have been misapplied. I am chipping away at the quesitons; however, some documents are old and faded and difficult for me to read. I'm hoping some expert(s) could read the last name of the couple listed for the entry dated 5 JUL 1656.

The entry as I read is: "Jul 5: Elizabeth ye daughter of Wm [William] & Elizabeth W*lton was born and July 12th baptized". The name in bold is the hang up. I could off by more than one letter. Looking at the parents attached to her record, you'll know why I have tree trimming on my mind.
Thanks!
Bart
PS: There appears to be another entry for Elizabeth on the same page above the aforementioned dated 24 JUN. (Confusing)

Firstly, the baptism is dated 12 July 1696 (not 1656, as you write at the bottom of your post) and the birth recorded as 5 July 1696. The entry has been indexed as "Elizabeth Weston" with father's name shown as "Wm Weston" and mother as "Elizabeth ?Eaton". I don't know how the mother's surname has been indexed like that, as there is just the one surname for the couple in the original entry.
A sibling, Catherine, has also been indexed as "Weston" (see 1 Jan 1698 entry in same image) AND there is another Elizabeth "Weston" baptism, dated 29 June 1695, in the same image.
However, I have just found William & Elizabeth's marriage in a search - with a link to the original entry (at image 3 of 126), clearly showing:
20 November 1693 - "Wm Weeton & Eliz Smyth marryed"
