Chinese Diaspora / Indentured Servants: Passenger lists
Has anyone here had any luck finding passenger lists for the vessels of Chinese immigrants that came from (most likely) Shantou (formerly Swatow) to Panama, Jamaica and Guyana (formerly British Guiana) in the second half of the 19th century (1854-1899).
I have three loose ends of my family tree that need tying up to these records as most of my father's side all seem to be of Chinese descent, but 2nd - 4th generation born in these countries.
Many of these Chinese came for jobs either to the Panama Railroad and/or to work the Jamaican cane fields. Eventually became part of each of these countries cultures.

I don't find any lists or immigrant records in Panama, Jamaica and Guyana that would help. Have you tried looking for record in China? Maybe someone in the @Chinese Genealogy Research 中文家譜尋根 group can help you find some records on that end.

I have found some intriguing information in The Official Gazette published in many of the former British colonies. An image from the Official Gazette for British Guiana 1905 illustrates information that I have not been able to investigate as far as I would like. It appears that immigrants are being named with the name of the ship and year of immigration. So far I find the search feature within the scanned book to be almost completely useless in Google Books. I have also struggled to find a full series of these gazettes for any one location. What I have seen leads me to expect that a lot of great content is waiting to be used in the gazettes.
