You consistently misspell the name of the county. Not Porsony but Pozsony now Bratislava.

Thanks so much. I have the spelling of Pozsony spelled 2 different ways. I just found out today that it is now Bratislava. How do you have the birthplace as Szentistvan?

from passenger list.

from naturalization petition

Don't you think he was from Bratislava?

The birthdate is off. He records 23 Feb 1873 in his naturalization papers. It still could be him.

death certificate says November 11, 1873. Don't know why there are different dates

There is a tree on Ancestry that shows his wife as Mary Michalek born in Jan 1879 but has no sources. In his naturalization papers he states he was married in Austria. So let's try to find her immigration record. It might help.

Also, we might try to find out where his friend Gerko, Josef from Syracuse Point, MD is from.

He had the following children listed in the Naturalization Petition: Elick, Rosa, Stefan, Leopold and John? Leopold was born 10 Jan 1914.

Mary Michalek and Martin Kadlic were married in Pittsburgh PA. It was her second marriage. I don't know if he was married before , but I don't know who the first name on the Naturalization papers is. I think maybe from a previous marriage?

Elick I don't know, Rosa and Stefan I believe were my Father Leopold's 1/2 sisters. John died in 1917 and their was another infant Julia who also died in 1917. Martin Kadlic also died in 1917 in a train/mining accident.

Also Leopold was born August 28th 1914. I don't know why it is wrong on the Naturalization paper

Have you found the family in the 1910 US Census? Do you have an obit for Martin or Mary? Do you have a marriage record for them? We need to connect him to the correct place and have a tying piece of evidence. Have you any other records that you could post?

I found a 1910 census for a martin Kadlecik immigrated 1903 (correct date) but birth year was 1877 . Area was south of Pittsburgh. No census for Mary Michalek because I don't know her first husbands last name.

I looked up the fellow passengers that were coming from the same place. I do think it is Studienka.
For example Agosts Vrablicz age 31 on the passenger list.

I do think that Tamas Ecseki has found the right entry considering his birth on his death certificate is close to that date. His immigration record, Petition for Naturalization, and Final Naturalization papers back up this place. He would be born 31 Oct 1873 and christened 2 Nov 1873. Martinius (Latin form of Martin) Parents: Georg Kadlicz (Latin Georgius) and Anna Haszler. Birthdates were kept track of like we keep track of them.
Also, two of his traveling companions have been located and their births were in Studienka. The correct parish for Szentistván is Studienka. Another thing you could do is look at the marriages and deaths for Studienka and double-check if you can find a marriage and death for Martin. If you can't this could mean he immigrated. More ways to verify is to find every US record that you can glean. An obituary would be helpful. Also check for tombstones, sexton records from the cemetery, mortuary records, and US church records. Also, search for other family members that might have immigrated.
Your next steps in the records would be to check for siblings, the parent's marriage, and then the parent's christening records. The marriage record should provide Anna's maiden name and might provide their parent's names. Here is the list of records that you can search: https://tinyurl.com/5eu9zhx7. Also, use the index:https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1554443. There is an excellent article with helps provided in the FamilySearch Wiki: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Slovakia_Genealogy
I think you are on the right track now thanks to Tamas.

Thankyou so much for all the time you spent finding the answers. I have the 1910 census and am trying to scan it. It gives the location on the Pennsylvania Maryland boarder. So If his friend was from Maryland that would make sense. This has given me so much to work with. Thankyou again Patricia Rossbach
